With the permanent configuration of the interstate and I-80/I-215 in this area, traffic restrictions are incredibly difficult with limited options. We believe the lane restriction you mention was in place while maintenance work was performed on one of our bridges in the area, and that work is now complete. Whenever possible, UDOT makes efforts to mitigate impacts to motorists on projects by only allowing work in shoulders or having lane closures take place outside of peak travel times. But when traffic counts on interstate and roads are high volume, sometimes the efforts to mitigate impacts doesn't appear to make much difference. We apologize for the inconvenience and hope that last week's opening of a second lane onto northbound Foothill Drive and the re-opening of access to Foothill Drive from I-80 westbound exit alleviates some of this inconvenience.

Please be advised that the ramp from I-80 to I-215 east belt will be closed beginning at 9 p.m. Friday, July 7, until 5 a.m. Monday, July 10. The closure is part of a resurfacing project taking place on I-80 from 1300 E. to concrete/asphalt transition in the mouth of Parley's Canyon.
