This looks to have been an issue since all the way back to at least 2013 (from Google Maps street view)

Any updates on this? Sciarappa and Spring had a utility truck here working on the lines for several hours yesterday with a police detail. I was hopeful that there was progress, but alas, it seems Verizon doesn't have any intention/motivation to remove it.

This is a Verizon pole. Please contact NYS=NE Engineering hotline at 866-686-1195 provide them with your name, contact number address and issue requiring ENG assistance.
They are very good at responding.
