Thought someone at the city might be concerned about a rabid skunk and that it would have a chance of being addressed. Wasn't aware that animal control doesn't monitor this site. Also wasn't aware that the site is "reserved for requests that have a chance of being addressed." Don't most posts aspire to that?
It would be useful if SCF provided guidelines as to what is and what is not See Click Fixable. Perhaps there are. But generally if it’s an immediate problem, report it to the appropriate city agency. You would not, for example, report a house fire on SCF. Spend a few minutes scrolling through the issues and you’ll quickly learn which departments respond, and those who don’t. The folks at Illegal Dumping are amazing. They usually pick up the items before you hit the “send” key.
When it is a safety issue best to call public safety 203 946-6316 then post to alert others. Animal Control does not monitor this site because they do not have internet access.
See Click Fix is a wonderful tool but like anything else it has to be used correctly.
Thanks KenCT, your clarification regarding immediacy is very helpful. Housefires, heart attack victims, and mobile wildlife should be addressed in other ways
