Person who reported this: As I was shoveling out my driveway this morning, and looking at my two cars on the street that got plowed in, I pondered the physics of this. For better or worse, I'm on the even side of the street. The odd side of the street was clear. The plows did what they are supposed to do to clear the street. The snow has to go somewhere - and that ended up being against my cars and in my driveway. Like water freezing at 32 degrees F or a hot iron burning my finger. It's a fact.
The city needs to be a little more creative here. Let people park in the garages at reduced rates for a longer time, so that as people dig out they have somewhere to go, and the plows can get the even side of the street too.
BTW I have had the experience of a huge mound of snow in front of my driveway from the city plows - a pile that had to be deliberate because it took 3 people about 30 min to clear it. But that was 2 years ago - I think that they have improved, but maybe I have been luckier.
We are closing your snow issue from the past season in order to focus our attention on the 2018-2019 snow season. Each year we review your feedback and try to incorporate it into our snow operations. Hopefully you will notice an improvement. Thanks!
I hope the snow plows pay more attention this season. The effect of plowing in driveways is that it makes the clearing job harder. I have offered neighbors space to park in my driveway during snow emergencies, but they turn it down because of how often the snowplows close off driveways.
