Why does Onni get away with so much? They should not be allowed to build in New Westminster any longer. Vic Hill issues and The Pavillion debacle as examples

Totally agree that Onni clearly goes unchecked by the city when it comes to their work practices. Workers litter and urinate outside for residents to see, the construction crew block the sidewalk regularly and the list goes on. Should we mention the parking? The city enjoys handing out parking tickets to the residents here on weekends and meanwhile Onni keeps building, breaking the rules and the City does nothing to hold them accountable.

Yes, I've walked by to see the workers publicly urinating in this disgusting trash pile they use as a parking area. They can't even be bothered to take 5 steps from the entrance to use a garbage can. Onni obviously doesn't care they are using our neighbourhood as a trash pile and toilet. It's been like this since we moved in almost 2 years ago. Would really like to see this site cleaned up and the workers' behaviour dealt with.

I also reported this to Onni and they replied they would take care of it immediately. I haven't been by there today to see if it's been done though.

Apparently, someone was picking up garbage there yesterday- but now there are several large open bags of garbage sitting in the rain. The ground is still covered with trash. Photos I took today attached.

Good afternoon. Would you contact the bylaw officer at 604-527-4603 at your convenience as we would like to determine the correct construction site as this issue has been tagged as 250 Ross Dr yet there are no current permits for that street. Thank-you in advance.

I'm not sure if the original poster followed up on this, but this isn't a construction site. Onni are building The Royal at 26 East Royal Ave and using the empty lot next to The Carlyle building for the construction crews to park, throw their garbage and urinate.

A month after the original posting, it's still a complete eyesore.

I am the original poster- was out of the country for a couple of weeks. I walked by the site the other day and it's a complete dump as usual. I will follow up and contact the bylaw officer tomorrow as requested.

There is garbage and debris in the rear of the site like (but not limited to) empty bottles of alcohol, discarded gloves, construction garbage as of this morning.

I agree. Sadly, their workers really just don't care. They continuously drop garbage all over the site, despite a garbage can being steps away. Even getting it cleaned up doesn't matter because they keep dumping on it every day. Wondering if the end of construction at the last buildings on Royal will mean that this site will be closed and cleared. We can only hope.

The alcohol is an especially worrying issue. Either these Onni contractors are drinking before they start on-site work or else they're drinking and then driving home.

Sure, theoretically, the bottles and cans could be from non-Onni workers, but who else is going to choose that fenced parking lot (which is locked outside of working hours anyway) as a location for public-drinking?
