Seems like I posted here a couple of weeks ago about two large commercial-style refrigerators/coolers sitting in the side yard of this house, on the Butte side of the Alabama@Butte intersection. But now that posting doesn't seem to be retrievable on SCF. I'm sure that Susan said thank you, but unfortunately, those two big stainless steel clunkers are still there, and now they have been joined by half a pickup truck.
"Half a pickup truck!" you say? Yup, it's a whole pickup truck with no hood, no motor, no front wheels and no one to move it away.

What fraction of a pickup truck ceases to be an abandoned vehicle, and starts to become illegal dumping: not 1/2, maybe 3/8th, 5/16th...? Surely City Hall has procedures to handle this.
At what point do we stop quibbling about it, and DO SOMETHING!

Freezers are still there. Half-a-truck is now in the driveway. New feature: there's now a burned-out BMW parked directly across the street.
City Hall's Vallejo Good Neighbor of the Year ward expected real soon!

Freezers are still there. Half-a-truck is still in the driveway. Burned-out BMW is now parked on the Butte street side of the corner, now without it's front wheels. Four vehicles parked adjacent to the house have parking violation stickers attached. Has no one at City Hall or VPD figured out that this residential property is operating as a chop shop, openly using a city street as it's junk yard? Has anyone at City Hall or VPD access to a law book ( public library's right next door!), to research whether this might be illegal?
We post pictures on the web and rhapsodize about our heritage waterfront. This location is exactly one block away from the river. Does anyone at City Hall or VPD, actually care about open law breaking on downtown streets? Does our City Council have any authority over City Hall and VPD?

Wrecks and trash truck, half a truck back on the street.
Hey, look ma, a phone number. Maybe, if City Hall staff can't find this street, they may want to call in and present that good neighbor award!

Wrecks on street are now gone. Other wrecks and half-a-truck are still in the driveway. The Freezers, now partially disassembled are still on the lawn, An entire truck motor and gearbox are now on the Butte-side lawn. A truck without license plates is on the Alabama-side lawn (house is on the corner).
I really think this house (?) should be featured on the city website. What better example is there that Vallejo promotes industry friendliness over all other issues. Yes, it's great to have a friend at city hall.

Often times, I've excused City Hall from accusations of corruption, blaming simple management incompetence for agencies being starved of necessary resources.
But in this case, I concede - what other explanation can there be for this continuing, open disregard for dangerous, polluting junk yard operations on the street, in a residential neighborhood? Someone is being paid off!
And, maybe that also explains the long running, un-prosecuted junk yard operation nearby on Kentucky Street!
