The Green used to almost always be spotless. It isn't anymore, especially on Sundays.

Has the Town Green District's cleaning budget been reduced?

the town green does not care for the green, the city does.

What a breath of fresh air on seeclickfix! Someone actually taking initiative themselves to solve a problem as opposed to whining that the city won't do it for them. I too, have picked up plenty of litter on the Green. It's nasty, but I do it. It also dosen't hurt to gently castigate litterers when you see them. A litterer's actions just might change when they hear enough people say "are you really going to throw that on the ground? would you like me to throw it away for you?"

The Green has looked cleaner lately to me - maybe it is just the cold weather.

There are still problem areas, such as around the bus stops and picnic tables. These may need to be cleaned more often. I just walked by and they were in good shape for the moment, so I am closing this issue.

Please reopen if you see a lot of trash on the Green!

The picnic tables were good, but I did another walk around of the upper Green. The upper Green, particularly around the picnic benches, is completely trashed and is unusable as a park space. There are literally hundreds of cigarette butts (indicating at least several days worth of accumulation), plus gum wrappers, food bags and miscellaneous items of trash, especially near the northwest corner.

Any idea of who is responsible for cleaning this? Should cigarette smoking be banned on the Green?
