The only "watcher" is the troy city council. They don't care about a van blocking a street unless it's blocking their street.

Yesterday, I happened to catch a traffic cluster created by this big red van.

A vehicle is patiently trying to take a left from sausse ave on to oakwood ave.

At the same time a vehicle is on oakwood ave is trying to turn right on to sausse ave. This vehicle is now stopped on oakwood ave waiting for the vehicle on sausse ave to move. But, because the traffic is so heavy on oakwood ave, the vehicle on sausse ave has to wait and wait and wait before it can safely take a left on oakwood.

Normally, 2 vehicles can enter/exit sausse ave but the "big red" van makes that impossible now.

As the vehicle on sausse ave is waiting for a clear spot to exit, the other vehicle on oakwood is now holding up traffic coming up oakwood from hoosick.

There's a steady stream of traffic coming down oakwood so the cars stuck behind the guy who is trying to turn right on to sausse ave can't go around him. Traffic backs up from sausse ave all the way down to hoosick. Amazing! All this just because one inconsiderate idiot parks his van in a bad place!?

It was quite a circus to watch! I am sure that there's going to be an accident at the sausse & oakwood ave intersection soon. And, the red van will be the cause of the crash.

Thanks for the pic. Although a horrible place to park the van, it doesn't appear to be illegal. Unless the van has no plates or the street is marked with signage indicating that parking is not allowed, it's parked legally. Since someone is aware of the address of the owner, couldn't one of the neighbors approach them and ask to have it moved?

The van is not a stolen vehicle. It belongs to someone who lives on Oakwood and does not drive it everyday. They have other vesicles. It is parked their so they do not have to move it on Mondays.

Now, the "big red" van actually is parked illegally. For some reason, the owners feel that it's OK to park the van facing the wrong way (against traffic) and it's OK to block the intersection of Sausse Ave and Oakwood ave.

We need this districts city council member to start reading and responding to these issues.... like Ken Zalewski does for his district.
