The stretch of Tunnel Road between Charring Cross Rd and the bottom of Bay Forest Drive has multiple large and deep potholes!

Unfortunately the City does not have enough funding to repave all streets in poor condition. With limited funding, our response to resurfacing requests is limited to minor pavement and pothole repairs only. Our Street Maintenance Department will assess your street and determine whether temporary measures might be appropriate. Please understand that this work may be limited to pothole or other minor repairs, and that we have many similar requests. We will do our best to respond in a timely manner. The backlog of streets in Oakland needing pavement currently is $435 million and growing.

There are many cracks on Tunnel. If the street is not repaired, part of the street will collapse.

Please note that my original tag stated that there were MULTIPLE potholes all the way from Charring Cross to Bay Forest Drive. The address is only a starting point. This issue should not be closed since I noted on my recent walk that only two potholes were actually fixed. There are approximately 8 very large potholes that were not fixed just up the road. Please reopen this case. While we thank you for fixing the two small potholes near Charring Cross, now we ask that you please fix the rest of them, many of which are much larger potholes! Thanks!

This is a major problem. There are lots of cracks. If these are not taken care of, sections of Tunnel Road will fall down the hill.
