Description
There are many children living on Foster Drive. Also, there are many people walking on the street at all hours of the day. There are no sidewalks. Many non resident vehicles use the street as a short cut to get from Summer Street to Concord Street (Rt 126) and vice versa. Most vehicles drive too fast on Foster. This even includes US Postal trucks, which are going back to the Post Office off Concord Street. It's also difficult to pull out of our driveways for fear of being hit by a fast moving vehicle.
What can be done? Can at least some simple signage be put up to slow vehicles down?

If you believe speeding is an issue, you would need to contact the Police Department at (508) 872-1212. They may be able to set up speed enforcement along that roadway.
To have sidewalks installed would be a larger undertaking. The amount of funding would need to cover probable easements and construction costs. This may be something that could be brought up to your City Counselor and he or she may elect to be an advocate for requesting funding over the course of the next fiscal year.
Any type of signage installation would have brought up before the TRSC (the Traffic and Roadway Safety Committee), which was an advisory committee to the Board of Selectmen. Now that Framingham is a City, the TRSC is no longer an active committee. All of these inquiries need to be brought to the attention of the Traffic Commission and to do that you will need to contact the Mayor’s Office, at (508) 532-5400. They will be able to provide you information on how to get on the Commission’s agenda.
