Thank you for your concern. Activity during the day our unusual tameness may be a sign of disease, but not typically rabies. More commonly, raccoons can be infected with canine distemper. I have provided a link below to an extensive fact sheet from the State of Washington. If you notice a location that raccoons are feeding or nesting, please provide us with specific location information so that we can investigate. If you have problems with raccoons on your property, you can contact an licensed animal trapper for assistance. You can contact the health department at 330-489-3327 for a list of trappers in this area.
