"I'm sympathetic to the plight of the homeless, but I think the public would be more sympathetic if they could clean up their unsanitary mess and keep their encampments clean."
Amen to that... but don't count on it. Many of these homeless types do not want to find housing, some just because they are nuts... others because they have pets or don't get along with others. Some are newly kicked out of their abodes, or priced out. We should help the some, start paying for the ones that have mental issues... but also start enforcing our laws as well. Somewhere somehow our system has broken down, we need to fix it and move on.
What we don't want to do is to continue ignoring the problem or putting band-aids on it. It is severely impacting those of us who have to deal with it every day.
