The entire park, it seems, is trashed.

Washington Park residents and Conservancy members have asked the City for help on this issue repeatedly over the years. Nothing changes. If there's a policy about not driving all over the lawns, it's not enforced. I witness this kind of activity all the time. For a City that likes to tout WP's gem-like presiousness to the city and visitors, we sure let it be abused, and by City staff no less. There are better ways to do things, you just need the will to do it.

Let's be realistic, the park is being used by PAL to make money. The answer lies in the P of PAL.

Could not agree with you more, Daniel and JFN. I and many others have posted repeatedly on SeeClickFix as well as been in touch with city agencies and the Mayor's office about the way this park is being misused, not maintained, destroyed with the lights, the driving all over the grounds, motorcycles/dirt bikes, trash, litter and drug paraphernalia, smoking and cigarette butts despite being a no smoking park, no longer doing the full fall leaf clean up so the mold issue is horrible and the grass is destroyed by spring, camping, and on and on. There is a complete lack of care, oversight, and response including from other elected officials like Common Council. Lark Street also looks horrible with trash and building negligence. Leadership, that gives more than lip service, is of the utmost necessity.
