I seek to know what we, as a city, can do about the very poor parking lot design at Foster Square,
the front lots, spanning from the end of the PJCC to the Post Office.
All parking spaces are compact spaces, regardless of being marked as compact or not. The lanes are very narrow, not allowing adequate space for most drivers to park comfortably. The curbs around the spaces are completely unnecessary/pointless and high- most drivers are going to scratch their rims or run over them, possibly damaging their tires,.
To redesign and reconstruct the lot, section by section, I would think would be affordable for a business that is swindling our Seniors out of their single-family home equity. (2/2s starting in the low $1 millions? Got to be kidding me.)
I strongly agree with this problem. Also, what can be done to have the construction crews from parking in spots closest to the businesses. I think these parking spots should be for business use. The construction crew parking should be along the foster city Blvd. I see the construction crews parking mon-Friday in these parking spaces closest the businesses. One more thing, there has been a black 4 dr BMW 3 series car parked in the same spot for several months, unmoved. How does the city deal with abandoned cars left in this parking lot. If you drive through the parking lot late at night, you can easily find this car parked in a spot closer to Alma Ln.
Thank you for your report. The parking lot was designed and constructed in accordance with the development agreement approved by the City. The median landscaping islands were created as part of the stormwater treatment mandated by the State.
The parking lot is private and is maintained and operated by the private property owner. The City does not have jurisdiction over private property. The Police Department has investigated the black car and has determined that the owner of the car is a resident of Atria.
