Hello. Thank you very much for reporting these squatters. These are not homeless people. Without a doubt, each of these individuals has been approached through numerous and continuous outreach efforts to get them into shelters (a place to call home), and they have adamantly declined the offers. If you speak to them (as I do), you will hear them repeatedly state that they are not willing to follow the rules associated with living in a shelter, such as not being able to roam the streets at night to look for items in parked vehicles, driveways, and backyards. Living free is simply their way of life, and they despise having to contribute to the very light chores associated with living in a shelter, which includes making their beds, doing laundry, sweeping and mopping, and washing dishes. Unfortunately, there is nothing that can be done to these squatters, because they will simply move from one location to another location, thus frustrating the efforts of the police. Furthermore, the judicial system simply does not have the capacity to continuously prosecute and house them for being in possession of so much stolen property, even if the police had the countless hours of time to figure out where everything was stolen from. Unless they are caught in the act of stealing, the investigative efforts associated with building a case against them far outweighs the burden that investigators have to invest in more serious felonies that involve public safety.

I wish that there were a team of police that could do nothing but investigate the felonious efforts of these squatters; however, they have much more serious crimes to consider, which involve public safety. These property crimes often fall below crimes that have to do with public safety.

The Alameda Police Department is not ignoring this problem. However, if you could go upstairs and take a tour of the investigations section, you will readily see that even you would agree that investigating these property crimes should take a backseat to the very serious crimes that are currently being investigated.

It's officially been 4 months since I first submitted this issue to SeeClickFix. During that time, the city government has done absolutely nothing. They have ignored this issue for 4 months without even acknowledging the situation. Transient addicts continue to plague the area, continue to commit various crimes, robbing and harassing people, while APD drive around picking their noses and munching on beef jerky. most worthless city government and most worthless police department in the history of the united states of america. An embarrassment to all law enforcement agencies across the globe

unlawful homeless activities continue unabated at this location. The other day I was over there trying to have lunch with my girlfriend and we had to put up with a group of smelly, half-naked transients with open containers of alcohol and illicit d.r.u.g.s swarming around us as they gathered up their stolen shopping carts and bicycles. The funniest part is just a few minutes before the transient group showed up an APD officer was just over there. Its funny how quickly APD is in and out of this complex. You roll in real fast to grab your lunch then you get out before you even have to deal with any of the crime. No wonder this area has turned into such a transient infested dump lately. Can't count on APD to keep these d.r.u.g.g.e.d up j.u.n.k.i.e.s. away from shoppers at marina village and their property

This is really bad APD & the Council aren't addressing the issues. What does the APD Resources Officer say? SMH - It's a lifestyle of drugs & anarchy at best. Plenty of jobs out there and I would work 3 jobs if I had to - even to rent a closet.

The corrupt city government of Alameda has officially ignored this request for over 4 months. Today is August 8th 2019. I submitted this request back in March 25th, 2019. Other people in the area have been reporting this same problem to the city/APD for at least several years now.

Seriously, is this supposed to be a shopping center or some kind of toxic waste dump?

I don't know what's more disgusting. The piles of rotting trash and human waste all over this shopping center or the corrupt city government that actively ignores years worth of complaints from city residents and knowingly lets it stay that way for years.

Friday, August 9th, 2019. Passed through the Marina Village toxic waste dum... I mean Shopping Center again. It's still a blighted horror show of rotting garbage crawling with d.r.u.g. addict transients.

Some of the stolen property and trash piles I photographed the previous day have been moved or re-arranged. The stolen children's bike that I photographed dumped in the bushes by the lucky's the other day has apparently disappeared. I'm guessing either one of the local transients took it, or maybe the original owner of the bike saw my post on SCF and went over there to retrieve it. I hope the owner got it back, but I doubt it.

Some of the trash piles have been re-arranged but are mostly still there. The stolen target shopping cart behind the lucky's is still sitting there.

They don't even bother securing their trash areas. They leave them wide open so they can be pillaged and scattered by transients. It's really disgusting.

You should post this on Nextdoor Neighbor and Facebook Alameda Peeps. Did you report to APD.

Unfortunately I do not use Nextdoor, but APD is well aware of it. I and other residents have reported it to them for the past several years. They just don't care. Paul Rolleri doesn't want to clean up alameda or do anything about all the transients that keep plaguing our communities. He doesn't care since he doesn't even live here. Apparently he's such a bleeding heart l.i.b.e.r.@.l that he will even bail lawbreakers out of fines when one of the few competent officers under his command actually dares to cite them. Not even slightly kidding about that by the way, I got an email from him the other day saying he would personally pay whatever fines are imposed on the recycling thief his department has allowed to trespass and steal from our and all of our neighbors' property for the past year and a half straight. the thief was finally cited on august 2nd after a year and a half + of weekly complaints to APD and now Paul Rolleri, the alameda police chief himself is saying that the thief was just a poor old person not harming anyone and that he's going to personally pay their fines so they can go right back to stealing again. Not even slightly joking at all.

Hi everyone, it's me again.

The corrupt administrators of this website are still continuing their relentless and nonsensical censorship campaign and keep wiping out my posts and putting a permanent auto censor on my accounts so I can't submit any further comments. They're also retroactively going through my request history and blanking out my requests, replacing their text body with "content blocked by rejections" and removing them from the site issue listing.

As such, not only do I have to register yet another new account to continue using the site, I also have to resubmit a whole plethora of requests and comments I've posted over the past few years that have been retroactively censored by the corrupt administrators of this website.

Also note that my reply to C.C. informing them that they're also having their comments censored by the admins was also censored by the corrupt admins of SeeClickFix only a few hours after I posted it. Evidently they don't even want users to find out about the shady stuff that they're doing. They'd rather censor us silently without our knowledge so that we discover it on our own months or even years later.

They steal the stuff from neighboring apartment complexes. People have been reporting property crime in the area for years. APD is well aware of the fact and that it's being commited by these homeless. They just don't care because the chief lives in Danville and doesn't have to deal with any of these problems. He makes $350k a year with your tax dollars living in a luxurious 4 bedroom estate in Danville while he ignores all these problems and lets our community turn into a garbage dump full of homeless robbing our properties every single day. Again: none of this affects him at all because he doesn't even live in Alameda. He lives in an affluent suburb that would never allow stuff like this in their community in a million years. Unfortunately the rest of us Alameda taxpayers can't afford to live in luxury like alameda police chief paul rolleri, so we're forced to live in this dump that he allows to grow worse every day while he gets to lounge in his pristine affluent neighborhood far away in the east bay hills.

I also just noticed that the SeeClickFix administrators have been retroactively going through my comments on this request and randomly censoring some of them. For example, they censored my attempt to notify the victim of a property crime and inform them that the remains of a package that was stolen from them by the group of d.r.u.g. addict transients at Marina Village Shopping Center was dumped there. I guess they do not want the victims of property crime in this area to even be made aware of who is stealing all their packages and where they've been going to unbox them. I guess we can add "obstruction of justice" and "accessory to theft" to the long and constantly growing list of egregious wrongs being committed by the SCF administrators against the taxpaying public here in Alameda. SeeClickFix admins are basically helping thieves in our community and helping them continue robbing our properties with impunity. I'm sure the police chief Paul Rolleri is really proud of their efforts to keep crime up in Alameda.

As usual, nothing has improved and the situation has only grown even worse as the totally corrupt and completely worthless city government STILL, to this day, continue their absolute and total refusal to do ANYTHING about this problem, despite this request already having been submitted 5 months ago, and other residents in the area complaining to them for at least the past several years now. Seriously, if anyone still needs any more proof that our worthless and corrupt city government is a totally broken pile of trash that does not even remotely serve the taxpayers of this city, I dont even know what to tell you. It has officially been 5 months since I submitted this request to the city government of Alameda. 5 months they have ignored this request and refused to clean up the blight, the i.l.l.e.g.a.l.l.y dumped garbage everywhere, for 5 months they've refused to clean up dangerous biohazards left behind by transients including d.r.u.g. s.y.r.i.n.g.e.s and broken bottles, etc, for 5 months straight they have refused to remove the i.l.l.e.g.a.l homeless encampments encroaching on private property, for 5 months straight they've refused to clean up homeless encampments, garbage, blight and stolen shopping carts littering public, taxpayer funded streets and sidewalks surrounding the marina village shopping center.

Hey everyone, it's me again.

As usual, the corrupt administrators of this website are still continuing their relentless, nonsensical campaign of censorship against me and continue putting nonsensical auto censors on my accounts, changing my display name to "display name blocked" even though my display name was actually compliant with their terms of service, and randomly, retroactively censoring my posts and comments anywhere from a few hours to a few years after I post them even when they are also fully compliant with the site's terms of service.

A few examples. I posted this comment here on July 30th, 2019, attempting to report a gang member hanging outside the Lucky's at Marina Village with an open 40oz container of malt liquor, openly violating the law and getting intoxicated in public while also disturbing shoppers: https://i.imgur.com/Ke9sBFZ.png

A few weeks later, SCF admins went in behind my back and silently censored this comment without even notifying me. The only way I even realized this happened is because I have gotten into the habit of saving snapshots of my requests after seeing them censor me and other people's posts. If I hadn't done that, I may have never even realized that they wiped my comment out. I can only imagine how many other people have had their comments and requests on this site stealthily censored like this. Just imagine how much stuff is being hidden from us on this site! How many issues people reported that were never seen by anyone because the corrupt SCF admins wiped their comments out!

Why would they do that if the comment doesn't seem to be in violation of their terms of service? The answer is simple, they are trying to cover up what is happening at this shopping center, they are trying to aid these criminals and stop efforts to bring them to justice!

I posted another comment on August 10th, 2019 (which I have since unfortunately lost because I didn't snapshot it in time before they censored it) showing a photograph of the remains of a stolen package that was dumped at Marina Village. I was attempting to notify the package's intended recipient, whose name was clearly printed on the package and visible in the photo, that their package was stolen so they are at least aware of who stole it (the transient d.r.u.g. addicts at marina village) and where they've been going to unbox stolen items from his complex. The SeeClickFix administrators inexplicibly censored this comment a couple weeks later without any warning to me. I only realized it when I saw the comment had been replaced with text "content blocked by rejections."

Again, I can't think of any good reason why they would do this. It seems they are intentionally trying to aid and abet the criminals at Marina Village and prevent their victims from knowing what happened and taking action.

On August 12th, I posted another comment showing yet another photograph of more vehicles i.l.l.e.g.a.l.l.y parking in the red zone at marina village. Like my last comment regarding this issue, they wiped out my comment for no apparent reason. It seems like they do not want the violators being cited for parking in a red zone!

On August 23rd, 2019, C.C. (now V.P.) posted a comment stating: "Soon it will be overrun and Alameda will be an extension of the Oakland cesspool. The City Council and APD are ignoring the ugly beast about to rear its ugly head."

Less than 24 hours later, the SeeClickFix administrators went in and nonsensically, stealthily censored C.C. (V.P.)'s post for no apparent reason, even though there is nothing about their comment that is not compliant with SeeClickFix's terms of service. Again, this seems to be an obvious attempt at manipulating the narrative. They seem to be trying to hide unflattering comments about our city government, probably because our city officials are paying them large amounts of bribe money to keep negative honest discourse off the site and out of the public's eye. It seems clear that they want our corrupt city officials to continue getting away with their corruption and negligence and continue making Alameda look like it is a much nicer place than it really is. They don't want people to know the truth and to see that Alameda residents are fed up with how our city government is running things.

I was just letting C.C. know what happened to their post and letting them know what the SCF admins have been doing. Apparently SCF admins didn't like that, and within a few hours my comment was censored again. Once again, read my comment and you will see that there is not a single instance in there of a single violation of SCF's terms of service. The entirety of my comment is fully 100% compliant with their terms of service. The fact is that the SCF admins just don't want people to know how corrupt they are and the fact that they are censoring users for arbitrary reasons so they hide my comments to hide the truth and sweep it under the rug!

Anyway, I have a whole bunch of more photos and updates to post on this request which I haven't been able to post these past couple weeks due to major interference from the SeeClickFix administrators, constantly censoring my accounts and wiping out my posts and making me jump through endless hoops registering new accounts and re-submitting issues they retroactively and randomly censored. I wont be surprised if they wipe this post out too.

The shopping center is still a blighted horror show covered to the brim in rotting garbage, much of which is the same garbage i photographed months ago (still sitting there, rotting). It's still overrun by transient addicts and weirdos. It's still a zoo. The city is still refusing to do anything. Still being the same worthless and corrupt city government they've been. I also noticed a bunch of other SCF users were reporting issues around this area relating to homeless encampments and stolen property, and we all know where the source of it all is. IT's just incredible to think this request has been up for almost 6 months now and the city is still ignoring it while more and more problems continue to grow out of control as a direct result in this area.

Wednesday, November 13th, 2019. Still no change.

Area still a blight and hazardous waste covered zoo, crawling with dangerous, erratic d.r.u.g.g.ed up transients.

The thoroughly corrupt and worthless city government of Alameda has officially ignored this request for almost 8 consecutive months. We'll be approaching the 8-month anniversary of this request in two weeks.

Nice job city government. keep up the fine work stuffing your pockets with six-digit-figure salaries paid for with our tax dollars while letting our city literally waste away and turn into a massive homeless infested toxic dump site.

city officials dont care since they all live in cushy homes in Danville paid for with our tax dollars. you can rest assured Chief Rolleri will never have to worry about his kids stepping on any needles dumped by the transients at Marina Village. They're too busy lounging in his multi million dollar home in the east bay hills to worry about all that.

It is not illegal to be homeless. They cannot be asked to leave if they are on City space and there is no alternative housing or shelter that can be offered for them to move. This is the law, called Boise decision, which was upheld by the Supreme Court in January 2020. If they are occupying a space that is privately-owned, owner can ask them to move. If they refuse, call APD, as this is trespassing. If an illegal activity, emergency, or someone is in imminent danger, report to APD. Outreach is aware of this site and visits the encampment regularly to offer services and connect individuals to resources.
