Description

This is not a service request more so than a complaint for the neighborhood. My house is located on a street with many occupants, a very TIGHT and cumbersome parking situation and now we have noticed an eyesore in the area. There is a handicap school bus, painted black that now sits on our street. We have called APD (Annapolis Police Department) in order to see if we can file a noise complaint on this bus however we were told that there is nothing they can do about it. This painted bus has a permit to sell "goodies," however it is not the business they are making for themselves but the inconvenience to the rest of the neighborhood that we are concerned about. This bus runs a very loud generator for hours on end up until the limit of quiet hours, typically around 2130. This generator can be heard loud and clear in all parts of our home, while we have company over, while our television is on, while we try to go to bed, etc. We work in jobs that require us to go to bed early and wake up even earlier and we are constantly distracted by this generator they run. Not only is the noise becoming a daily irritant, but they park this bus on the street in the already limited parking space available to Clay Street. These spaces then don't clear up until late at night after we have to settle on parking several blocks from our home because of situations like this, where there is a bus just idling in the parking spaces or cars with flat tires being parked for weeks without moving also taking up precious space. We ask that the bus be relocated to another street or be asked to turn off the generator that causes all of the noise while they are parked as to lessen the cramped street as well as quiet the neighborhood.
