Description

The
"STOP " lettering was ground out of the pavement a few days ago on Piedmont Avenue, in the direction from 40th St. towards Monte Vista. The "STOP AHEAD" lettering is still present between 40th and Monte Vista, but the stop sign is obscured by many trees - I've seen about 4 people blow right through this stop sign in the last week as a result. This was a three way stop intersection, stop signs at all 3 directions into the intersection.

If this is no longer a stop, then the sign should be removed - but I suspect new lettering is supposed to be added on street? It should be done ASAP, before cars and/or people are hurt by someone driving through the stop; this type of change should be done immediately (replacing lettering on the street), particularly in a case like this where the sign itself is very hard to see.
