Witnessed raw sewage being excavated from the basement. Operator of the shop vac dumped buckets full directly onto the ground covering a large area of the rear of the property. Sewage was seen spilling over into the public alleyway. Stench was so overwhelming several households had to retreat inside.
Witnessed civilian, not a Hazmat company or otherwise professional, rinse the shop vac, more or less, with the garden hose. No protective clothing was seen. Tenant of property was seen rolling the shop vac into her apartment. Hazardous waste is now in our causeway and is a threat to humans, pets and plant life.

Tenant has repeatedly stated that the sewer is backed up and the basement floods. Refuses to contact owner as they, the tenants, are assumed to be squatters. Considered to be a low level drug house, crack, heroine etc. which might explain their inability to process their sewage problem correctly.

...need to contact the Health Department immediately. I would also suggest 12 on your side. This is a critical problem that needs to be addressed immediately.

I would hope that health department would be contacted immediately by city - this is no joke.

This ticket is closed in the City's Work Order system.
