Unfortunately the City does not have enough funding to repave all streets in poor condition. With limited funding, our response to resurfacing requests is limited to minor pavement and pothole repairs only. Our Street Maintenance Department will assess your street and determine whether temporary measures might be appropriate. Please understand that this work may be limited to pothole or other minor repairs, and that we have many similar requests. We will do our best to respond in a timely manner. The backlog of streets in Oakland needing pavement currently is $435 million and growing.

  Recently I was speaking with a former high ranking state government official. We were discussing Oakland and 311. He thinks that, for Oakland, 311 is a waste since the city has no resources. Better that the city figure out to get the resources rather than just letting people vent. Any votes on that idea?

  Brian, I’ve had hundreds of issues fixed by reporting them to Oakland via SeeClickFix, including potholes, dumping, broken traffic signals, and more. I would be very disappointed if they stopped using this service.

  I vote to give the city more resources so they can follow up quickly on even more issues, and for the city to address dumping issues more holistically as they account for the vast majority of reports, in the thousands per week.

  I agree. More resources. That is what this person and I agreed on. That Oakland needs more resources for infrastructure and homelessness.

  The road is dangerous and will soon cause an accident because drivers drive on the wrong side of the road to avoid the potholes. Please fix ASAP. Children live and play on this street!!
