If you look on google maps, you can see the three historical marker signs that were removed for filming and never replace. Two of them have left metal part jutting up from the sidewalk that present a significant trip/fall hazard. I took a screenshot and marked them but doesn’t look like I’m able to upload photos. I can email if that is helpful.

If the film company removed these, they should be the ones replacing them. I have reached out to the dept here that issues the film permits to address.

They should just remove the screws instead of replacing the signs

Can we have safery tape or vone or SOMETHING done (or as suggested remove the screws?)

Drums have been placed over the screws until a more permanent solution is completed.

Hi Guys...bumping up as it has been a while now and the Big orange barrels (an improvement yes!) are not the solution ...Has the city been able to get HBO and the Temple to get the signs put back that had been there?

The barrels are a short term solution to immediately address the tripping issue. I will check with Building And Streets to see where we are.

Any updates on this situation? I don't know why it has been over a year now....and the HBO show Plot Against America was supposed to pay for fixing it as they took the signs down for filming....I know we are not doing much due to covid-19 but it IS outside work and if someone falls....

We are following up with Hudson County on this issue.

Please provide an exact address of the sidewalk so that I can send an inspector.

This is literally going on for 2 years now and I'm having a hard time understanding why this can be such a ignored issue thank you so much for finally doing something maybe?

I'm the person who took those 2 Orange cones from the corners where the crossing lights were being put in and moved them over there... Specifically because the big Orange barrels just simply disappeared.... As long as the cones are still there every day I take a picture... And have been doing this for months now.... But I understand there so many other things going on that this eventually just fell through the cracks but at this point it's so annoying to just see it languishing.... And I worry that those Orange cones will disappear one day...

2 year anniversary has come and gone still open still same situation ....HBO filmed here and HBO took down the 2 signs that were there...and the temple said HBO was supposed to reinstall them and the CITY and HBO are supposed to have coordinated this...the one sign was about the directions to Liberty State Park and the Ferry to Statue of Liberty...being a posting showing next corner (Communipaw arrow towards the Hudson River) The color was burgundy and green and the other sign was something about the historic Temple Beth El ...why is this a 2 year issue? Thank you for giving us an update on when this will be taken care of? I have the luck of walking my dog up harrison and onto JFK at least 3 times a day and at least once a day I have to RE INSTALL the orange cones onto the things so that people do not fall....or trip....I only posted it because I saw someone walk into the screws that protruded from the sidewalk and rip open her foot and bleed...otherwise I may never have thought twice about it in the first place....thank you!

I am the one who filed the initial report...there were TWO large protrusions from the sidewalk...ONE of those was remediated but the other one as in the photo I submitted above on May 26th is STILL there and I constantly have to take the orange cone from another spot and put it there on top to keep people safe...WHY is this taking SOOOOO LONG?

Building and Streets have been informed to remedy this situation and i was informed, they are working on it.

I see this is ALMOST fully resolved. BEFORE you close out this 3 year old ticket....we never DID get the signage back that the film company temporarily removed when they filmed the PLOT AGAINST AMERICA....I want the signage back about this historic building (TEMPLE BETH EL) and also the signage about how to turn at Communipaw for statue of Liberty and the State park...both signs were removed...open screws left there for years and no replacment. This is not right..the city gave them the permit the LEAST they could do is insist they pay to get those signs back on the boulevard. thanks for reading and hopefully handling to complete resolution and closure.
