Parking Ticket Writers are Out of control. Tickets are being issued without any supervision or Laws known to the General Public. 1) Properly parked in front of 125 Franklin St, Jersey City, NJ - there is No street marking and No sign that would say so, it is a ilegal spot. As per this ticket - Law used (not known law until now) 39:4-138E - Improper Parking within 25 Feet from Crosswalk. This is a unknown law to the General Public, if there is such law, sign must be in place in common streets. As per picture, parking is legal and there is no violation but be careful, please take pictures of your spot before you leave the street or area. Parking authority seems to be out of control with some tickets. Yes, the city needs revenue but Not like this.

For some reason the Parking Authority seems enforce the slightest crosswalk violations yet doesn't seem to enforce vehicles parked on the sidewalks of the Heights. At night in particular, there are multiple instances of cars parked of the sidewalks of Zabriskie between Summit and Kennedy even when a garage is available. One white SUV, near Kennedy, parks parallel on the sidewalk almost every night. Another (mid block Zabriskie) parks on the sidewalk to the right of the driveway. Many other instances as well.

They don't enforce the crosswalk violations on Hopkins/Palisade. People constantly park there to go and grab their coffee blocking the view of drivers leaving hopkins and pedestrians crossing.

So if YOU don't know the parking regulation then YOU shouldn't get a ticket????? How utterly ridiculous. Firstly, you should be aware of all rules and regulations and can always look them up. Secondly, the 25ft rule to the curb (the painted red zone) is a State regulation. That particular rule protects pedestrians from being run over because people like you do not care where they park. It is also very difficult for cars passing in the intersection to see when parked in that area. It comes down to being considerate. The "laws" aren't designed for you to just pull up in to your "private" spot on the street. You're probably a renter who thinks no laws apply to you. Finally, quite your crying and follow the
rules !!!

@Concerned-While state regulations may stipulate the 25 ft rule at crosswalks there ought to be signs and markings indicating precisely where one can and can not park. Do people need to carry measuring tapes every time one parks near a crosswalk?

You are aware it's 15 feet from a fire hydrant??? Or do you need a measuring tape for that. it's common sense. They do not give tickets for 241/2 feet!!! You were probably in the crosswalk!!! And by the way, usually the red paint on the curb is a clear give away. Don't play the victim. You parked illegally and got caught. You have probably parked illegally since then (and many times before that).

This guy or girld *concerned* is crazy, my complaint is: There is NO marking or sign saying; it is an ilegal spot there. There is a crossway closed by and there is a street sign saying parking hours for sweeping but there is NOT yellow or red lines saying it is ilegal to park.

Not crazy just smart enough to know the law. Pick up a book and school yourself. You probably don't even know the spped limit in town when a sign is not posted!!!! Well it's illegal to park within 25 feet of the corner, period. No marking required!!!!
