Description
A request to grind the stumps on Elmwood Road was made in last year and again in March 2019. Someone came out and marked the stumps, checked the utilities and then NOTHING! Several calls and messages to the Parks Department have gone un-returned. I was told the request was still open in May, but I don't see it.
Please respond and let us know when the stump grinding will happen.
The Urban Resources Initiative keeps offering to plant new trees, but can not, because of this issue.

I am located at 65 Elmwood, but all of the stumps on the street were marked in April. (I think there are 5 different stumps on the street that need grinding.) After they were marked, the following week, all of the utilities (gas, water and phone) came out to mark their locations. We thought that the stump grinding would happen in April.
I am not aware of any request made by URI. The request this year was entered in March by Shaun? Brown of Public Works, She told me that request was still open as of May 20th, 2019 when I called to ask when they would be done. She suggested I call Public Works. I left two messages. Neither were returned.
Is there a reason why we now have to wait until the Fall? Do you grind stumps in the summer?
Last Summer, before they did the sidewalk repair and paved the street, they cut down the trees. We were told that the stumps would be ground down before the sidewalks were replaced and the street paved. When they were not, I was told by Adam Marchand, our alderman, that he had talked to someone (I don't know who) and we would have to wait to the Spring. That is why I called in March. That is why I am writing this again.
