Description
Street flooding caused by the man-made dunes planted in front of county beach access #3 at Columbus Blvd and Beach Road on Siesta Key is causing flooding of access, pulling oils onto the beach, and leading to the drowning of nearby turtle nests. Likewise, the volleyball net on beach (lands held in trust by the state under mean high tide line) during turtle nesting season violates multiple laws and seriously endangers our wildlife.

Actually dunes add positives. I agree with the standing water. i.e. non impervious surface. Hints why I'm ripping out that asphalt where old road once was.
Can't fix stupid.. Please don't be anonymous so you can be trespassed.
Maybe you should try something positive like helping me save the fish estuary and city sewage infiltration

Tammi, You are a renter.. You have NO rights ;) as you don't pay the taxes.
That being said, Dunes help turtles to nest as the add to beach accretion .. You sound very uneducated.. http://www.seaturtle.org/documents/coastal_management_manual.pdf
You have a good point... just wrong solution. This low spot has always been an issue. I have the same concerns about "old road", low spot, Exactly why i am tearing out the non impervious surface and replacing it with beach compliant sand. Again, you sound so uneducated.. impervious is best.
That being said, You are a ReOpen beach road supporter, completely misguided, stop using county energy until you are willing to stop drinking to reopen beach road kool-aid .
FYI: 100 Beach Road (AKA: #3) is actually my deeded Property, consider yourself trespassed

Apologize to “Tammi”, not only my mistake but that was a little rude of me to say.
Most of us love and respect the ocean and the beach.

This photo is a reminder, for the public record, of how the area looked in 2010 before the bully started stealing our public beach with his "mine, mine, mine" manifesto of fake "dunes" with sharp thorn grass.
Notice the "enjoy your park" sign and the smooth, un-flooded, roadway and wide, flat, OPEN beach. WHO IN OUR GOVERNMENT WILL PROTECT US, THE PEOPLE, and restore this area?!

Thank you for reminding us how much the dunes help with accretion.. 400' more beach for public as well as sea life to utilize. And it's for sale.
Elizabeth G? Are you upset because you got trespassed? If so, that wouldn't have happened if you didn't constantly harassed owners. Tortious interference is one thing people, stealing owner's right to quiet enjoyment, terrorizing them is another and wasting public officials time is another.
