This area of Sherman continues unpaved and hazardous. The placement of the narrow island perhaps helps to slow down traffic but it makes the roadway difficult. The lanes are now too narrow. There's no room if an accident occurs. Pedestrian walkways border this area. God forbid someone gets hit by a car. I think that they way this area is configured, plus the unfinished road surface is just asking for problems.

This spot is an unfortunate coincidence of several problems right now, but responsible drivers know the only answer is additional patience. The city's transportation priorities have been made quite clear. There has been a contractor delay with finishing the pavement. The Montessori school is going to develop that parking lot and permanently change the access. Traffic will increase after labor day and over the long term as well.

Agreed with GTS here - the solution to deal with "difficult", "narrow" lanes, as Francesca describes them, is to drive slowly. Narrowing lanes is a textbook way to slow traffic down. The medians are not going to go away for a long time, if ever. Drivers have to slow down, and if a crash occurs and there's no room to get out of the way, then that's tough luck for drivers.

Still the parking lot entrance's location is ridiculous. People use it to exit the parking lot too... Why not widen the current lot's exit - in front of the Montessori School - and make this side of bellis circle one way? There's plenty of other ways to make it better than it currently is...
