It seriously can be forever long. Not only is it an issue for adults but that is a major route to Davis High and DATC. Students are made tardy because a red light will just never change. It's a safety and societal issue.

This intersection is a huge problem for anyone who uses it frequently. This morning I sat at a red light for 17 minutes and not once did it turn green. The only way to be able to go was to finally turn right, make a u-turn immediately after turning right to then go straight on Mainstreet through the always green light. This makes for incredibly dangerous situations. Students, new drivers, pedestrians, etc all have to deal with this on a daily basis.

Also note the sensors on the east side of the street seem to work. So when the intersection is busy the problem is unnoticeable.

Thank you for contacting UDOT. We have identified the issue and implemented a temporary fix. A work order has also been created to repair this issue.

This has gotten worse over time. The crosswalk stop hand starts flashing and counting down then it just changes back to a green walking person. It will do this several times before finally staying a solid red hand and turning green for those trying to turn left to go north on Main Street. Sometimes we wait several minutes with no one coming in either direction on Main Street and the light just won't change for those going east and west or trying to turn onto Main Street.

We were glad when this light was installed about 10 years ago. It has become a problem, though, since the light often won’t change. As a pedestrian, this light has always been frustrating because it is really slow to change even after you push the button. A lot of pedestrians cross here due to the high school and DTC. I’ve seen pets/cars go through red lights because they get so tired of waiting. Please fix it!
