I will come and take a look at the ditch.

We will truly appreciate it -- you just may not see any signs of the old ditch, it was filled and covered over by the paving of East Vernon.

I visited the site and do not see where the ditch has been filled in. No paving has been done on East Vernon The only paving done last year was across S Main St. on West Vernon AVE.

The paving of East Vernon was done in the early 2000's; that's what I'm referring to. We have been trying to get help ever since.

I will look into the ditch on the north side of Vernon. I was thinking the south side of Vernon is what you were talking about because that would be on your side of the street?

There was a ditch along the north side while East Vernon was still gravel; it ran along the border of 555 S. Main St.(Spanish style house at the corner of S. Main & E. Vernon). It truly helped water to run off and drain properly.

So, many years ago when the developer paved the street (which we had petitioned not to be paved due to traffic), he was supposed to restore the two ditches he filled in. (One on Vernon and one behind our house. After months of asking, he never did.He also never paid for the water he stole by hooking up his hoses to our neighbor's outdoor faucets when she was away from home--so much going on there.) Within weeks, we started having flooding in our church hallway and water under our house when there was significant rain.. When I contacted the Town of WF, they said it was the developer's job to restore the ditches. If anyone would like me to show them where the ditch is, the ditch is beside 555 S. Main st. You can see the drain pipe that runs beneath the steps that attach to Vernon from where the old ditch was. The residents who live at 555 S. Main support the ditch being restored.
