We just get a comment from the City on blight in Vallejo yet this has been a growing issue for over 2 years in that area. Why does the city have this service anyway?
I have been working down at the waterfront for 17 years. This year is the worst I have seen. My property is basically a bathroom. Sh@t on my doorstep many many times.
What about better jobs and a future of opportunities to prevent them from becoming homeless in the first place?
Why are there signs right at this location banning that exact behavior? Because it becomes a health hazard and a nuisance to the folks using a public park at it was intended. Albeit it’s not much of a park, but it’s being degraded. You have a right to be free and do what you please until you infringe on other people’s rights to do the same......
If residents are being priced out and/or there’s no work available for them, what are they expected to do? Where are they expected to go? They can’t simply become invisible until they’re financially stable again. There must be some other alternatives in place or this situation can only get worse. It’s unrealistic to expect them to not be anywhere bc ppl don’t want to see them.
