  Yes, well Thank you for combining it with another request, but it has been here and GROWING in numbers for over a month. We’ve been patiently waiting for them to be told to move, told they cannot stay here -that our community is Paying for tough sheds at another location so we do not want to pay for them to be here.
  This block and it’s tents ruined my business. We pay in stress, in area thefts and litter by allowing these squatters to take over public property- we ALL should have access to use the sidewalks

  Yes, please stop it before it grows. It has devalued my property which is adjacent to it. Increased my maintenance costs keeping up with removing litter, trash , human waste, hypodermic needles, etc..Please have these illegal squattera removed asap.

  They’re still here at this spot, a ton if garbage that they’ve created and now there’s a full sized flowered couch in the lane! So when you come off tge freeway and around the turn on Watts to get to Peralta you may hit it, it’s going to be a huge accident soon

  Perhaps it would help if WON sued the city for discriminatory treatment.
  They use Facebook (I don't) and there would need to be a vote on it and a few home owners to front the suit. Worked against the Port !

  This group has not left/not been made to leave again and are within the 6 blocks we were promised would be kept clear of people re-settling, it is on the block of the peralta st. encampment!
  There are garbage piles and refuse from their food, and living on tge PUBLIC sidewalk.
  The garbage is growing which attracts rats, they are going to the bathroom in the bushes (?) all of which brings disease.
  City of Oakland is getting money since they decided (without public vote) to be a sanctuary city. We have see the problem grow-not get better or be less. Where is the money going?
  There needs to be accountability why it is being wasted on the new comities and positions in the office and the money never gets to more police and outreach who GO OUT OF THEIR OFFICE TO THE OEOPLE WHO ARE LIVING ON THE STREET -to sign the folks not just partying out tgere -but really mentally ill or in need of a fresh start -DELIVER ACTUAL services NOT EMPTY PROMISES while wasting our tax paying money on people who do not do their jobs And giving services free without requiring them to paying taxes LIKE WE ALL DO

  ...More run down the spot, the more run down the folks & the business dealings...The "urban campers" have some semblance of order as always seek outdoor shelter with some type of concrete protection, stay out of the public eye as possible, (hence the tents), & close enough to a store/fast food outlet etc., to take care of basic needs...Those out there who are receiving Unc. Sam's dime each month qualify for housing but "maladies" that made them homeless in 1st place never addressed in those initial Shelters/Transitional Housing interviews as if on hard street drugs folks shooting up with these days, many of those places won't let them in since not staffed for it...Sleeping on streets not a crime via SCOTUS not taking up Seattle case so solution is for our "Urban campers" is to have get a License or Permit to sleep for outside at a spot for a certain duration, just like when one visit's any Camp Grounds in the State or throughout US...Plenty of homeless organizations would pony for the souls & all the while, fees collected would pay for the eventual clean-up...Win-win...

  Thank you for posting this! This photo is accurate and shows how it continues to grow and not being cleared.
  I have witnessed illegal activity going on here, I’ve reported it to OPD, to here...still no arrests are being made.
  All the cops have to fo is sit in an unmarked car down the block and watch and see it’s a drive through drug stop.
  I reported also I think they are drugging up and selling someone for sex in one of the tents.
  The cops sat down the block and watched the white van (man) I reported doing the same suspicious actions and DID witness and arrest him for selling drugs and girls on this same block.
  It’s more of the same happening here-it’s their spot their clients know to go for it and that’s why they won’t leave/keep coming back.
  Action needs to be taken and this must stop.
  It’s unacceptable I Have to tell my kids to shield your eyes from seeing someone having sex in the door of a tent (guarded by two shady looking guys) just driving on our way home.

  ...I was the one who wrote something, now gone...Found you can't write more than the box can hold as it "triggers" 311 personnel to have to read it in depth...So, 1.) wouldn't go into any effort more here as to "sound off" or, supplement/amend a particular comment, 2.) 311 has been asked before on "comment policy" but to no avail, (How about this, no more online profile, we go back to "calling you guys all day" about the same concerns?)...Separate section for comments is warranted given citizens doing the footwork thar 311...box full...

  ...(all the 311 emails I get now, wonder what was "not being done before?")...On above: With 9th Circuit Court decision that homeless on streets not criminal, then local municipalities should copy Fed./State Parks & issue "Temporary permits/licences" for homeless on streets with specific urban areas zoned with all the proper facilities for these "Urban Campers"...Fees?, Non-Profit's galore to pick up the slack as fees then used to maintain facilities & pay for the eventual clean-up once time up & they move to another designated site...A, "Win-win"...

  Driving home tonight was awful. There's trash and broken glass strewn all over the street. Bad enough when it's on the sidewalk where none of us residents would walk.
  It's almost to the middle of the street!

  ...That'a way!...bombard em'!...The parable of the persistent widow, (Luke 18: 1-8), as literally what you have to be...Appreciate those above on pro-active side doing the emails, (story with Joe D. was I became aware 2014 he was assembling City Suits/Brass to survey "3 hot areas" in Oakland based on OPD calls etc., so, mentioned above as to our, "Triangle" & lobbied for him to come here 1st...Something to behold as like Audubon Society, binoculars/clipboards, "cleared out" the whole area!)...All 311 post seen confirm, not out of woods, yet...
