I was heading west on 5th street, trying to cross Union Street.

Other cars and I waited through two light cycles and the light for the cars going straight never turned green, though the left turn arrow was functioning as expected.

After these two cycles, four cars decided to proceed straight through the red light when traffic was clear (obviously illegal and unsafe) while I turned right on red when traffic was clear.

This light may be influenced by a road sensor. From what I could tell, the car in my lane nearest the intersection was in the expected position and should have been detectable by the road sensor.
