Description
The striping situation on the 700 N. I-215 entrance southbound is dangerous. There is about 1200 ft of solid white line, at least half of which should be dashed line. This entrance is particularly bad, because a large amount of traffic is in the far right lane preparing to exit on I-80 westbound. People don't think about merging until the solid white line ends, but they don't realize that they have no space at all by that point. I have seen many cars go off the road onto the shoulder, particularly if large trucks are in the right lane. The line should allow you to cross and merge well before that point, there is certainly enough space there.

Ryan,
We have taken your comments into consideration regarding merge distance/time at this location and have begun the process to take some corrective action. The proposed solution will likely be re-striping of the roadway to allow for earlier merging to reduce conflict.
We appreciate you taking the time to reach out to UDOT with your concerns. If this does not resolve your issue please feel free to re-open this request.
Thanks!
John
