Description
Mather Street is one pothole after another
Some repaving has been done but it is insufficient. The entire street from Dixwell Ave to Whitney Ave needs to be paved
Filling potholes creates more problems because the cars traveling are going over different levels of height
This has been the case for several years and should be remedied

There are multiple solutions to this problem.
The area that was paved at Dixwell to about the trail was part of the development of the condos in that area.
We have a grant application at the State of Connecticut DOT to replace the bridges along Waite and Mather streets. Paving will be conducted along these areas. This will continue to take some time.
We are exploring some long term solutions to speeding along Mather. We are likely going to do some more work before we can address this.
We are also waiting for additional funds to be allocated for paving by the Legislative Council. They are struggling to establish a budget.
There is no quick answer, Patching is the best we can do during this difficult fiscal period. Staff is attempting to work on this road.

Thank you for caring enough to follow up.
The condos were required to pave this portion of Mather as part of their site plan approvals. This happened at no additional cost to the Town.
The bridge work is a very long term project that we are trying to get done. The application alone has been at the State for 18 months....
We can only do what we are given funds for.
While we understand that you may not find this acceptable, we are in a budget crunch and while we try to get to every complaint, sometimes we can only patch rather than do the entire job as well as even we would want to.
Again, thank you for being passionate enough to register your concerns.

By decent I mean one that won’t sink in after a month; there must be an economical way to follow up to add more quick patch after the first has settled
Thanks for your reply
