Last wkend, the city did a great chop cutting the snow back on Chapel St. Yesterday another great job on Park St near Fronatge. It's almost normal now, w/ 2 lanes of flowing traffic and 2 lanes of parking spots. Thank you! However, York St., just around the corner, is a big mess, dangerous for drivers and Yale student pedestrians. The snow on York must be cut back as well. There is a horrible traffic jam all the way from Crown to Elm every night at rush hour, since there is effectively only 1 lane now, w/ lots of bus traffic, which slows it down even more, since no one can get around them. Please help!

Thanks for reporting this. It sounds like many complaints were logged and the city needs a new approach next winter. Please open an issue again if plowing becomes an issue this winter.
Also, I believe that sidewalks need to be maintained much more carefully in the winter - in fact they should be maintained at least as well as the streets, since a very large proportion of people living in New Haven do not have the option of driving and need clear sidewalks in order to get to work, access bus stops, etc. This past winter, there were hundreds of injuries due to ice falls and children were being forced to walk in the middle of the streets like Whalley Ave. That's just unacceptable.
