Description
There seems to always be at least one walk light at this intersection that is out. I have called Public Works about this and the one at Wall & John at least a dozen times. They blame Central Hudson, and at this point (I just called two days ago) they seem to not really care anymore, claiming they don't have the money to deal with it.

It's about personal responsibility: we have it with us all the time.

Bah humbug.

For the pedestrian, stop signs removes the problem of drivers pressing through with a right turn on red. The pedestrian will never find herself in the crosswalk at risk of going green, or a driver going through late yellow at speed.
For a time, the Wall and Front intersection was managed by stop signs: most pedestrians loved it, it calmed that intersection, and encouraged pedestrian traffic.
