  The COVID-19 “no parking” signs and traffic cones alone aren’t working. I haven’t seen any parking enforcement personnel yet today.

  This is across from 465 Bellevue at 2 PM today. Double parking continues to be problematic, too.

  The cones alone mean nothing unless there’s follow through. For a “slow street” this has become the street of choice for parking. Ive seem cyclists struggling to maneuver around cars.

  Double parking also allowed. I didn’t know that “slow streets” = new parking lot. There’s no safe space for walkers or bikers. The anarchists who destroy our city and don’t obey the laws seem to be winning. (It’s painful to see what was done to our downtown, our courthouse and now the north side of the lake where most residents actually live.) The areas designated for grilling and picnicking and parking lots are so peaceful now. Weird the disparity. If all this partying moved to those areas it would not affect residential areas. Does our vote no longer count?

  The Bellevue portion of the Slow Streets program needs assistance. If anything, there has been an increase in traffic since this portion of the street was designated a Slow Street.

  Yesterday it worked as it was meant to work. (Until 5pm when people in vehicles seemed to know that the parking enforcers would no longer be ticketing.) It was wonderful to see the cyclists, walkers, runners, scooters using the street without fear of being run over. Today, as there was no ticketing, it went back to the crowds of people. So tickets work. Why there was enforcement yesterday until 5pm, but not today I do not know. Today I saw a cyclist having to zigzag between all the cars on Bellevue.
