Its so annoying. Residents of 124 columbia tried to add to the pile in the photo. I saw them scurry off but moved the furniture back in front of their rental property and emailed the landlord. I get that people will usually quickly take some kinds of useful stuff. I have left stuff that I knew would be scooped up within an hour, but there is also stuff that is just trash.

Tenants should be required to leave their junk out in time for trash collection. Is there a place to take “good stuff” that someone might want? If not and it is left on the street it should be clearly marked “FREE” AND removed promptly after 24 hours. Landlords should be required to educate their tenants and hold them accountable. It is getting ridiculous around here. Trust me I don’t see this happening on Brattle Street.
