Per Public Works: This location has been studied and does not meet the criteria set for NCDOT based on current traffic volumes and accident data for signalization. The Tyron road widening project is in progress but the holdup is the reconstruction of the bridge. NCDOT is currently getting the bridge designed and construction started. Once this is complete the new intersection of Tryon Road and Junction Blvd is scheduled to have a traffic signal. It will be signalized once the new road is punched through to Tryon Road.
