Description
As always, there has been no shoveling of the sidewalks on certain parts of Route 60. I'm attaching a map to try to show the problem areas. Hopefully it is correct; I am not great with geography. The issue is that the sidewalks are totally impassible--no one even tried to shovel them. People are walking in the streets as there is no choice. This is scary for those of us walking, and scary for those driving.
Personally I'm not walking anymore. It's just too dangerous. I will be paying for a space in the garage near the train station, and starting up my car twice a day so that I can drive the one mile. I think this is a shame for the environment and for my personal health, but it isn't safe to do anything else in the winter if we can't count on having navigable sidewalks.

Whoever owns that lot is pretty irresponsible. For a long time the fence enclosing it was falling over. I think DPW worked with them to get it fixed, but I believe it took a lot of effort. My guess is that they would rather pay fines for code violations than bother to take care of anything. Would love to find out who the owner is too.
Other areas around are not so clear; I think some of it must be the city's responsibility. Across the street is the home improvement store, and they don't seem to shovel either.
