For the city: the dumping is taking place on 60th Ave side of building. This happens all the time.

Call Code Enforcement. (510) 238-3381. You don't need to give your name but take note of the case number they give you - you'll need it to follow up in a few weeks. First an inspector is sent to confirm the problem. Then a letter is sent to the property owner who has 30 days to correct the problem. You may be "on hold" for a little while when you call, but be patient, the agents are quite nice. Office hours are 8 AM - 4 PM Mon., Tues., Thurs., Fri. Weds. 9:30 AM - 4 PM

I left a sign at the apartment door where the tenants live. Also, we should contact the landlord. There are two other apartment buildings on the corner of Camden that are kept clean. The tenants/landlord of this apartment building do not keep the property clean.

I wish there was a website where we could shame slumlords

MERC Thanks for the update on Code enforcement's hours. It takes the witness's and as many concerned neighbors as possible to file the complaint and stick with it.

In my experience, I don't know if anyone else filed a complaint whenever I did. But I ALWAYS followed up and the problems were taken care of.

Thanks Beth! (This is Jannah). This is the fourth complaint I’ve filed about this building. I’ll call code enforcement on Monday.

The neighbors right next to the building told me that the trash cans were stolen and the landlord has not made any effort to call waste management and order replacements.

Please add the missing trash bins to your complaint as well. There needs be enough to support the whole building. If there is anything else in the way of blight going on with building mention that also.
