It is reported that according to the FBI crime stats for 2013, that Oakland has moved up to #2 most dangerous city in the nation (with Detroit at #1.)
There is also a great People Behaving Badly segment on Oakland where a Highway Patrol and Sheriffs patrols are shown running from thugs on Oakland streets. The cars are kicked and pelted with rocks and bottles. It is pretty sad but it is Oakland. Check it out.

Or the shooting of a burglary suspect today in the Oakland hills. The suspect was shot by a private patrol security officer hired because the residents couldn't depend on police protection.

Just what we needed.
This morning Howard Jordan comments on Henderson's firing of Frazier and appointment of Warsaw to over see OPD. Jordan says the appointment is "terrible" for Oakland and the officers will be leaving soon.
