Deskripsyon

Last summer's sewer line replacement by Andes Construction left holes with shallow asphalt all along Hearst Ave. The asphalt has broken through to gravel in front of 2454 Hearst and possibly other locations. Hearst Ave needs repaving.

The City of Oakland Public Works Agency has received this issue. It is registered as service request # 510855. Thank you, in advance, for your patience as we work through a backlog of pothole service requests. Unfortunately the City does not have enough funding to repave all streets in poor condition. With limited funding, our response to resurfacing requests is limited to minor pavement and pothole repairs only. Our Street Maintenance Department will assess your street and determine whether temporary measures might be appropriate. Please understand that this work may be limited to pothole or other minor repairs, and that we have many similar requests. We will do our best to respond in a timely manner. The backlog of streets in Oakland needing pavement currently is $435 million and growing.

We also have potholes and street damage from the recent sewer construction in front of 2538 and 2547 Hearst Ave. Some of the potholes are opening up and allowing other St. construction materials to come through. this could cause potential problems to car tires. The Street now has significant damage that was not there before the sewer construction. Would like to request repaving of Hearst Avenue

Making a second pass over the asphalt patches and recompacting may be a short term solution. All in all, Andes could be doing a better job on the pavement.

The asphalt patches are a real problem. They are uneven and many have potholes within. Can we get Andes to fix their mistakes? Our streets are bad enough without these extra problems!

I totally agree. We also have potholes and street damage from the recent sewer construction in front of 2532. It's pretty rough and bumpy driving in and out of Hearst now. We would really appreciate if Hearst Avenue can be repaved. Especially since the street damage only occurred after the sewer construction.

The potholes were repaired. The entire street shows considerable wear from Andes' heavy machinery.
