Description
The no right turn on red sign on park and Otis is ignored by 80% of drivers turning east on Otis from Park. Also many drivers turning west on Otis from park do not stop on red before turning. It's only a question of time before a pedestrian is injured or killed at park and Otis. APD where are you?

Thank you for reporting your concerns about street safety in Alameda. We will pass your report to the Police Department. Also, the City recently received a grant to make signal and pedestrian safety improvements at this intersection, and we will pass along your comment to this team.
Your report will help inform the City of Alameda’s work to achieve our Vision Zero goal of eliminating traffic fatalities and severe injuries. We will use street safety reports, including yours, in combination with crash data and equity indicators to prioritize and design street safety investments. This evaluation will generally happen on an annual basis, with some exceptions for clear and pressing trends. Issues that the City deems to be immediate safety concerns will be elevated for quick action.

2 weeks ago my wife was almost hit by a car turning right.
Yesterday (7/21/23 between 3:40 and 3:50pm) a car made a right on red in front of a police officer who also made the same right on red and did not pull over the driver.
The No Turn On Red is not enforced at all here. I think it makes sense for it to be a right turn arrow timed with the left turn arrow going south onto Park from Otis. Either way it needs to be enforced because cars don't look for pedestrians to their right.
