There is a noise ordinance in the City of Lansing from 11:00 pm to 7:00 am. This is definitely annoying! I just get to sleep and BOOM - SO disrespectful of other people!! I sure hope the Police do their job. Make your neighbors aware of this ordinance please. It's only going to get worse if nothing is done and people are not aware of the law. This goes on WELL before the 4th of July and continues WELL after.

I think that the sellers of these fireworks need to hand out the ordinance to people buying them, or make them read it and sign it, like you used to have to do when buying illegal fireworks in Michigan before they became legal.

It's now 12:19AM and I have been listening to fireworks since 9am this morning.My dog and cats have been shaking and hiding all day.I'd LIKE to be able to enjoy the cool evening and have my windows open...not going to happen.The air is so thinks with smoke outside it looks like I live in a war torn country.What good does it do to have an ordinance that NO ONE will enforce???SInce WHEN was enjoying the 4th contingent upon setting off the kinds of fireworks best handled ONLY by professionals and WHY spend that kind of money when the City and several surrounding ones HAVE terrific fireworks??I miss the days when kids spent the evening with sparklers and little rockets..NONE of which ever made me or my dogs feel like we needed to head for cover!Nice to know that these families who can't manage without welfare CAN "find" money to waste on setting off BOMBS for 16 hours.

I'm right their with you Bobbie. It is udderly rediculous. The city has done nothing to enforce the ordinance. I have complained on this sight twice and even reported it to the LPD, twice. My dog has been shaking and hiding for the last month. she can't even go outside in the daylight hours to releive herself because of the fireworks going off at all hours of the day and night. I've bought every product available to help her through this, and that is not even helping. These idiots think they have every right to disturb their neighborhoods and have no respect for anyone else.

I've got ONE neighbor that every evening HAS to set off 5 or 6 ..not the pretty ones..the NOISY booming ones.Makes NO sense to me.
