Well, for that matter, I take my rail bike up to East Rock on a regular basis. I simply dismount and carry it through the tree. As to the business of people going in there and 'cleaning it up', that would actually be quite difficult. They would have to do a lot of heavy lifting with hours of cutting. So, to your point, since trail bikes are in a very small minority, maybe .05% of the number of New Haven people who climb East Rock, I fail to see any sense at all of bothering with this tree, which, to me, is a wonderful and interesting piece of wood.
Thank you Curt. I would leave it up to the City of New Haven to decide if they want to remove the tree or not. I was just alerting them to this downed tree. It is up to them.
