Description
Two weeks ago when I was inspecting Sausal creek after the New Year’s storm I was engaged by a staff person at Gladman/Heritage Hospital who asked what I was seeing. I told him that the torrent of the creek had washed out a significant amount of soil under the redwood trees at the back of their property where the creek turns. I encouraged him to inspect it himself because I believed they were in danger of falling down. He said he would look into it. A few days later when the hospital had arborists removing a tree that had fallen on their parking lot from across the creek, I presumed that they had taken a look at the redwoods that I had mentioned, and since nothing was done, they had deemed them safe.
Yesterday morning from the middle of Davis Street, my neighbor and I looked up at those redwood trees and one of them is leaning a few feet northward from its normal position. We are concerned that it’s getting ready to fall. We usually get westerly winds and the tree is leaning in a direction that means it will fall on the house at 3000 Davis Street. There is a 16 month-old child in that house, and we are concerned for her and her parents’ safety.
