TREE DOWN !!!! During todays brief but heavy rain & wind, the top portion of a very large old tree came down, falling a ross the sidewalk onto the fence and into the Truman St Community Garden. The large broken top portion is laying across a wire - UI has been notified, but a large thick broken branch is teetering over the walkway. I put up caution tape but it needs to be tended to immediately!!! I will post photos tomorrow! But this is the tree before it came down with the red marks indicating what broke off.

Thank you to all who responded to my late might calls/texts (UI, NHFD, NH Parks & Trees). NO PARKING MONDAY signs are up so I expect work will be done tomorrow. You can see the hollowed out portions so the entire tree needs to be cut down to the stump and removed. Thanking the tree service in advance but I will be out there tomorrow.

City Parks & Trees for responding so quickly and removing the broken tree limbs that fell across the sidewalk and into the community garden. Now that the debris is removed, all the damage caused is revealed. That section of the fence & gate is destroyed, many shrubs are broken, our library box is crushed. I am hoping we can get assistance from the City to have the fence repaired and the shrubs cut down & removed. We would also like the remainder of this diseased and weak tree cut down to the ground so the remaining branch does not fall into the street and possibly cause human harm! And the big stump of a broken tree is very unsightly!!
