In accordance with city USBC 14 guideline for the enforcement of maintenance standards a house that has been either abandoned or vacant can be deemed as fire hazard and unsafe when unsecured or open. The fact that the property is vacant does not exempt it from proper maintenance of the exterior. The city, if they cannot locate the owner, will need to board/secure the property and charge the owner respectively for labor/supplies.

Thanks, but he lives in Washington DC now. The bank is in the process of foreclosure, I have spoken to the one of their maintenance guys who was there to blowing leafs. He said he let the bank. I have called Wells Fargo twice. I had also previously reported this issue on SeeClick before. And have called the police several times when I have seen people going into the house.

Inspector was to have posted a Notice of Violation and the owner had 48 hours to comply. If not completed then the Property Maintenance Division is to have the owner summoned to court. If he doesn't show he is in contempt. Personally, I would fault the Inspector as this issue should have been resolved the first time.
Keep up the good work. I'll do what I can at the next MPACT meeting in March.
