Description
I am a resident at 360 State St. and I regularly use my bicycles to get around the town. Currently, I have to store my bike in my apartment as there is a lack of options for secure bike parking. This makes it difficult to carry the bike in the lift every time I have to use it. The apartment does provide an indoor bike storage facility but charges $50/month for a spot. Even thought there are a lot of bike parking racks, they lack a sense of security and I feel there is a genuine risk of bikes being vandalized if I park them for long without a properly secured bike storage spot. I know there are secure bike storage facility at the Union Station for $10/month which sits unused. Is it possible to move them here at the location marked in the image? I would be happy to pay a year's rent in advance if the city is willing to move or make a similar facility available at this location. I also know a lot more people in the building would be interested in renting out a bike storage unit at a lower cost than what the apartment provides. Looking forward to hearing back on this idea. Thanks!

Get two quality U-Locks, One is the longer. Back tire, chain ,frame to the sturdy post ( some street signs can be unscrewed or just pulled out and tossed. U-Lock the front tire to the frame , Have a thick cable looped into the back u-lock and thru the bike rack, get the seat and run it to the front u-lock, loop it on ,lock,
( if in love put master locks all over it)

Hello Rish,
Your request was not a rudimentary request for a bike rack. Your request would involve an infrastructural change in our city, i.e., moving the bicycle storage facility from Union Station to your apartment building.
Please take a moment and try to imagine how your request is viewed by the community. Should we move the bicycle storage facility from the train station to your apartment building? The bicycle storage facility at Union Station is for everyone to use. Why should we move it to your apartment building?
Also, you have bicycle parking bollards located right outside your building. You also have bicycle parking available inside your building. Somehow, I believe the city would rather install bicycle parking in places where there currently is no bicycle parking available.
Finally, have you spoken with your property management, South Oxford Management LLC? How would they feel about your plan to circumvent having to pay their $50 monthly fee to park your bicycle?
