Description
On 14th January 2024, traffic lights at the Russell field Rindge Ave MBTA 83 bus stop Crosswalk are flashing orange and there is no pedestrian cross walk signal. Since this has occurred a few times recently, is there possibly a more permanent fix? Many thanks!

The traffic signal electronics are at the end of its life and should be replaced. Additionally, the power cables under the street are cracking, so we need to pull new cable through the underground conduits. If we discover that any of the conduit is broken, which is common, we will have to excavate to install new conduit.
In the meantime, we will continue to "reset" the traffic signal when it goes into flashing mode. Please call Cambridge Emergency Communications at 617.349.3300 anytime you see it flashing and we will respond.
We will leave this SCF open until the permanent repair is completed.
