Still no action

I encountered what I thought was a dead body in that area a few weeks ago (my dog ran through the cut fence and I had to go get it).... turns out it was just a person covering herself with a large coat while shooting up. In recent weeks there has been more and more improvised beds and shelters in that area... along with broken booze and pill bottles. Also, I encountered a discarded needle along the sidewalk a few weeks ago. It seems it is a matter of time before something unfortunate happens in this area, especially with the warming weather and with more people in the park.

We are trying to do a better job of closing out old reports that fell through the cracks, fortunately, the issue didn't. FEMA approvals and permits for work in the water take a long time - but finally the project is finally underway. Completion is still a few months off, we'll try to keep you posted.

The fence and seawall have been completed. Since there are other tickets for the lighting project which is next in our que we will close this ticket out.
