Property still not mowed

We had a coyote from this property walking the street. No one has been out to mow.

This begs the question of why it took from 10/12, when this was reported, to 11/25, when the order to clear was issued. How much time is the owner given, how many written notices, before this decision is made? This is not meant as criticism but rather as an attempt to understand the process and see if it can be streamlined. If the rules say that the grass has to be, say 10" high, and the neighbor opts to wait and hope the owner will act, and then reports it, and then there is turnaround while an inspection is made, followed by a notice to the owner giving them X days to clean it up, after which the order to clear is given, followed in turn by this property getting in line behind all the other properties that need to be cleared.... you can see how in the interim the lot can turn into a sanctuary for vermin and a real eye-sore. How do we fix this?

That has got to be one of the longest, most confusing run on sentences in the history of city bureaucracy.

It's not run-on, technically (English teachers don't do run-on sentences), but it is long.. .and the length echoes the lengthy condition :) It was deliberate.

But it got a reply - we now know that this was a simple error in which this particular item fell through the cracks, which explains the delay from 10/12 to 11/25. That is not normal. Let's hope the Association's nice letter to the absent owner forestalls a repeat when the rains come again.
